Charity jersey launched by GAA president
GAA president Liam O'Neill has officially launched Oslo GAA's new jersey, which sports the logo of a charity started in Co Kerry.
The Norwegian club has teamed up with Bee for Battens to help raise awareness of Battens disease.
The charity was set up by Tony and Mary Heffernan from Keel, Castlemaine, in 2010 following the diagnosis of their two children, Saoirse and Liam, with the very rare neurological disorder.
Five-year-old Saoirse passed away last year from the condition while four-year-old Liam will return to New York in October for the last time, to participate in an ongoing research project for Battens Disease.
