The company behind The Ivy restaurant, a celebrity hangout in London's West End, has secured the green light to bring its glamour and style to Dublin.

Dublin City Council granted planning permission for The Ivy to fit out a new restaurant on Dawson Street. In giving The Ivy Brasserie the go-ahead, the planning authority has backtracked on earlier demands that a large portion of the ground floor be dedicated to retail.

A letter from The Ivy Collection stated that it had signed a 20-year lease with Green Reit plc on the premises with no break clause "so we are committed to making a long-term investment in Dublin".

Some of the celebs who frequent The Ivy in London include Hollywood stars Bradley Cooper, Tom Cruise, and Angelina Jolie, while Madonna, David and Victoria Beckham, Uma Thurman and Kate Hudson have all been on the reservation hotline.
