Car involved in fatal crash being pursued by Garda car

GSOC are investigating a fatal crash in Co Meath in which a woman in her 20s died.

A 20-year-old woman was killed and four other people injured in the two car collision.

One of the cars involved in the collision was being pursued by gardai at the time.

The accident occurred on the N2 just outside Slane, at Waterside Great close to the Duleek turnoff at around 10.20pm last night.

The victim was travelling in the backseat of one of the cars when it collided with another vechicle.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The female front seat passenger (20) and male driver (early 40s) were both transferred to Blanchardstown Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The male driver of the other car (aged in his late 30s) and female passenger (aged in her mid 30s) were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.

Their injuries are also understood to be non life-threatening.

The stretch of road is currently closed while an investigation is carried out and diversions are in place.
