Cannabis found in car at ferry port

A man is being questioned today over the seizure of almost €100,000 worth of cannabis.

Customs officers detained a Lithuanian man at Rosslare Europort after searching his vehicle when he got off a ferry from France yesterday.

A scanner and drug detection dog were used in the search.

A total of 8kg of herbal cannabis was discovered.

The Lithuanian national, who is in his 20s, was arrested and is being questioned in Wexford Garda Station.

He can be held for up to seven days.
