Cannabis and cocaine worth over €1m seized in Dublin following major operation

A joint operation between gardai and Revenue in Dublin has resulted in the seizure of drugs with an estimated street value of over €1m.

According to Revenue they were involved in a joint operation yesterday with the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and the Special Crime Task Force.

Officers searched a business premises in Ballycoolin in Blanchardstown in Dublin 15 and discovered 150kg of cannabis resin and 3kgs of cocaine.

The drugs have an estimated street value of over €1.1m.

An Irish man in his 40s was detained by Gardaí under Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drugs Trafficking) Act 1996 and is currently being held at Ballyfermot Garda Station.

Investigations are continuing.
