Bus Eireann pays tribute to man who died in workplace accident
Bus Eireann have paid tribute to a man who has died from injuries sustained in a workplace accident on Monday.
The company issued a statement extending its "deepest sympathies and condolences" to the family and friends of the man, aged in his fifties.
It is understood the deceased was from Inniscara just outside Cork city and was working as a contractor in the Bus Eireann garage at Capwell when the accident occurred.
The man suffered head injuries when a cherry picker he was working on was toppled over.
He was brought to Cork University Hospital and was described as being in a critical condition.
However, Gardaí last night confirmed that he had died in hospital yesterday.
The Health and Safety Authority, the Gardaí and Bus Éireann are investigating the accident.
