JOE Burke, the Dublin Port chairman will return to work tomorrow.
The 58-year-old has been ill since early January, when he was accused of sexually assaulting a 23-year-old woman on New Year's Day.
Gardai are still waiting to interview him about the alleged sexual assault.
The announcement that he will return to work came despite speculation that Mr Burke would stand down from his post.
"Joe Burke is the appointed chairman of Dublin Port," Brenda Daly, the head of marketing at the port said yesterday.
Ms Daly went on to say that it was business as usual at the port.
"The company's entire focus right now is, as always, on the important business of Dublin Port."
