Buckfast Easter eggs flying off the shelves as off-licence receives 2,000 one day Newsdesk Newsdesk

An entrepreneurial off-licence owner in Northern Ireland has combined peoples love of chocolate and Buckfast this Easter - and he's being inundated with orders.

D-Bees in Lurgan, Co Armagh has received more than 2,000 orders for the unique egg in just 24 hours, owner Derek Brennan confirmed.

It's not the first time the off-licence has got creative with Buckfast.

The store has previously sold novelty "Bucky" Christmas and Valentine's hampers.

Mr Brennan says he has 20,000 eggs in stock and is selling them for €11.53.

The Easter egg package includes a 140g chocolate egg and a miniature 5cl bottle of Buckfast, along with a Buckfast-branded pen, lighter and magnet.

Buckfast is a type of tonic wine that is popular with Irish people, due to its cheap nature and the fact it has an alcohol content of 15pc.
