Broadcaster Mark Cagney rushed to hospital
BROADCASTER Mark Cagney was rushed to hospital this morning after suffering chest pains.
The TV3 star was hosting Ireland AM live this morning when he began to feel unwell.
Cagney turned up for work on the programme at 5.30am this morning – his regular starting time for the popular breakfast and current affairs programme.
It’s understood that there were no apparent problems at the time.
However, at approximately 8am, the renowned broadcaster began to feel unwell and started experiencing chest pains.
Concerned staff decided to call an ambulance.
An ambulance arrived at 8.20am and brought the presenter to Tallaght Hospital.
His condition has been reported as ‘fine’ and it is not thought he has suffered any cardiac problems.
One source said that his concerned colleagues decided to take “precautionary measures” and call an ambulance.
“Everyone got a bit of a fright – including Mark – but he is just fine now,” one source said.
