Bride fulfils her vows -- to vote and walk up aisle

She may have been facing the biggest decision of her life, but yesterday bride Lisa Walsh was so determined to have her voice heard that she cast her vote 15 minutes before she was due to wed, writes Elaine Keogh.

The Wexford secondary school teacher was accompanied by her father Tom and sister Evelyn as she cast her ballot at The Tholsel polling station.

Afterwards she was to marry Donegal fiance Seamus Friel in Rathgarogue, New Ross, before celebrating their reception at the Lyrath Estate Hotel, Kilkenny.

Lisa's sister held up the train on her dress while she was in the voting booth -- to ensure she looked perfect when she saw her fiance.
