Rugby pundit Brent Pope is extending his fashion ambitions and launching a collection of shoes this month.
Proud owner of at least 30 pairs of shoes in the wardrobe of his home in Blackrock, Dublin, the 'Pope Shoes . . . Created by Brent' range kicked off after he attended New York Fashion Week.
He has now developed an "old-school" capsule collection of 22 styles of leather and nubuck shoes and boots, as well as tasselled loafers in suede, priced from €99-€119.
His role of rugby pundit on RTÉ television sparks lots of comment after matches. "Most women don't care about the result, or post-match analysis, they ask me where I got my clothes," he said.
Enjoying a rare night off from international commentary last night, Brent said he planned to "watch the game like everyone else and have a glass of wine".
Praising Irish men's style, the New Zealand native said: "They have definitely up-styled over the last decade."
Brent, who has lived in Ireland for 25 years, will debut his new range of footwear on RTÉ's 'Ray D'Arcy Show' tonight, when he hopes to do a make-over on male members of the audience.
