A TEENAGER had her dying wish granted as her idol Ed Sheeran "sang her to sleep".

Triona Priestley (15) lost her brave battle with cystic fibrosis just minutes after a phone call from her favourite singer.

Friends started a massive online campaign after the Dublin schoolgirl told how she dreamed of talking with the 'Lego House' singer before she passed away.

Yesterday, as she lay in Temple Street Children's Hospital, that dream came true when the Castleknock girl got a call from Sheeran. "Triona slipped into a sleep as Ed was singing to her and passed away shortly afterwards. So, Ed Sheeran sang her to sleep," her brother Colm Priestley told the Irish Independent.

After learning of Triona's death this evening, the singer offered his condolences online, tweeting, "Rest in peace Triona, so heartbreaking x".
