THE inspiring message of teenager Donal Walsh (pictured) will live on at the country's only suicide resource centre, which is dedicating two rooms to his memory.

'Donal's Rooms' will be used for counselling teenagers and young people, and will even be decorated by some of Donal's friends.

They are being set up at suicide prevention and bereavement charity Console's new Tralee office.

Donal's message to young people who are struggling mentally not to take their own lives inspired the nation before his death from cancer in May.

Elma and Fionnbar Walsh, who last week collected a Rehab person of the year award posthumously awarded to their son, said: "We're delighted that Donal's two main messages, the need for suicide prevention and teen care facilities, are now coming together under one roof."

Console has full-time counselling centres in Limerick, Cork, Dublin, Wexford, Galway, Kerry and Mayo.
