Brady scholarship to put song in students' hearts

HE has written for Tina Turner, Cher, Santana, Art Garfunkel and Phil Collins.

But now one of Ireland's most celebrated singer songwriters, Paul Brady, is set to have his name on a scholarship.

'The Paul Brady Blas Scholarship', launched last night, will provide €20,000 over three years to allow 25 musicians to study at the Blas International Summer School in the University of Limerick.

Michael O Suilleabhain, Donal Lunny and Brady are among those who will be giving one-on-one mentoring at the school.

Applications should be made in writing to the University of Limerick or by emailing ernestine.healy@ul.ie.
