Boy (6) airlifted from Tory Island
A SIX-year-old child was air-lifted from Tory Island, Donegal, yesterday after suffering serious injuries in a farming accident.
The alarm was raised at around 6.30pm and the Shannon-based Coast Guard helicopter was sent to take the boy to Letterkenny General Hospital.
Tributes paid to tragic swimmer
HUNDREDS last night paid tribute to an Irish swimmer who died during a Channel crossing bid.
Paraic Casey's Requiem Mass takes place today in his native Cork, with his swimming cap and goggles to be laid on his coffin. Mr Casey (45) from Passage West was just 1km from the French coast when he fell ill on Sunday. Mass takes place at 11am in St Columba's Church in Douglas, with cremation later at the Island Crematorium, Ringaskiddy.
