Boy (13) rescued from river by Irish Coastguard
A number of agencies including the Gardai responded.
Gardai in Drogheda have confirmed a 13 year old boy was rescued from the Boyne river earlier this evening.
The youngster was playing close to the rivers edge when he appears to have accidentally fallen into the river opposite the garda station.
It is understood a member of the public threw a life ring to him and that a number of agencies including the Gardai responded.
A garda spokesman confirmed he was removed from the river by the Irish Coastguard.
