Bowe and Zebo among Lions planning lads-only celebratory trip to Las Vegas
They've been on cloud nine since their thrilling victory against Australia and now Ireland's Lions rugby heroes are planning the ultimate celebrations in SIn City.
Tommy Bowe and Simon Zebo are among the group of players planning a trip to Las Vegas.
The champagne spray will continue Stateside when the Irish stars jet off with fellow British Lions players to relax and soak up the party atmosphere following their hard-earned win.
The teammates are trying to keep the trip under wraps to avoid any unwanted media attention – but behind the scenes they are quietly planning the well deserved break.
Speaking to the Sunday Independent, Bowe remained coy about the team's holiday plans. "We have four weeks off now so we're going to try and get a bit of sunshine," he said.
"In fairness the sunshine is so nice here it's nice to be at home and catch up with a lot of old friends and people we haven't seen in a while."
Asked about the Vegas trip, he said: "There could be a crew going to Vegas at the end of the month so I haven't quiet put my hands up for it yet but I wouldn't rule it out."
Teammate and Corkman Simon Zebo is also hyped for the lads-only trip, but is spending time soaking up the sunshine with family and friends in Cork for the moment.
The holiday will continue almost two months of a whirlwind adventure for the Lions players after lifting the coveted Cup of Victory after a 41-16 win over Australia at the ANZ stadium in Sydney.
The Irish players formed strong friendships with teammates from their neighbouring isles: "I think that's the beauty of it: you get to meet so many players from so many different countries so the crew going over could be a good mix of all the different countries," explained Bowe.
In the meantime, the rugby hunk is keeping busy by launching his own shoe range – The Lloyd & Pryce Tommy Bowe "For Her" – which he has managed to land in 90 stores across Ireland.
He is also preparing for his girlfriend, former Miss Wales Lucy Whitehouse, to move in with him in the coming weeks.
The nurse and part-time model is the envy of hoards of girls besotted with the Ulster star but Bowe says it mightn't be all a bed of roses.
"I have lived on my own for a long time so I'm sure I have plenty of bad habits that she will have to get used to," he said.
But he added: "She's obviously a gorgeous girl with a great personality to match and we get on really well together. It's going to be great."
