A body has been recovered after the search resumed for a missing man who was thrown into the sea after his boat capsized on Saturday.

A man, believed to be in his 50s, had been missing since Sunday afternoon.

He was among two men tossed into the sea off the coast of Templenoe in County Kerry.

The second man managed to make it ashore and raised he alarm, said the Irish coastguard.

Emergency services were alerted just after 2pm and a search got under way.

The Shannon-based helicopter Castletownbere Coastguard unit and Kerry Fire Service were among those involved in the search.

Speaking today on RTÉ’s Morning Ireland, a spokesperson for the Coastguard said that conditions today were “a little awkward close to shore”.
