Body of newborn baby found in house in Cork

GARDAI have launched an investigation tonight after the body of a newborn baby was found in a house in Cork.

Gardai were called to a house in the Friar's Walk area just after 4.30 this afternoon, where the body of the baby was found.

It is not believed the baby's death is suspicious.

The mother of the baby is currently receiving medical attention.

The body of the infant has been removed to Cork University hospital pending a post mortem examination tomorrow.
