Bitter cold may have led to death of young woman

THE body of a young woman found in a car park at the weekend could have been there for some time.

Gardai are not treating the death of the woman, who was in her early 20s, as suspicious.

Her body was discovered in the car park off Godfrey Place in Tralee, Co Kerry, at around lunchtime on Saturday.

It is thought she could have been there since the previous night.

The woman, who has not been named until relatives are notified, is understood to be originally from west Limerick but had been living in sheltered accommodation in Tralee for some time.

Temperatures plunged to freezing overnight on Saturday, which is thought to have been a contributory factor in the woman's death.
