Bill Clinton to receive an honorary doctorate from an Irish university


President Bill Clinton will be back in Dublin next month to accept an honorary doctorate at Dublin City University (DCU)

DCU  will confer the honour on the 42nd president of the US  “in recognition of his leadership in building and consolidating peace and reconciliation on the island of Ireland.”

On the same day, the university will also award honorary doctorates to social justice campaigner Sr Stanislaus Kennedy, much of whose work has been for the homeless,  and businessman  Mr Martin Naughton, founder of  Glen Dimplex, one of the world’s largest private manufacturing companies.

The ceremony will take place on  Tuesday October 17 at the Helix on the DCU Glasnevin Campus.
