Biker in his 30s dies in crash on motorway

A male motorcyclist has died on one of the nation's busiest motorways.

The incident occurred on Dublin's M50 at junction six near Blanchardstown shortly after 9.30pm last night.

It happened close to the 'on' ramp at the junction.

The young man who died was in his mid 30s.

There were no other vehicles involved in the horrific crash, which occurred in the northbound lane.

The road remained closed into the early hours of this morning while a garda forensic examination took place.

It has since reopened.
