A special service which will be attended by the country's TDs and senators is to be held next week close to Leinster House.

The service is being organised as a tribute to the Berkeley victims and will be open to members of the public.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny and other Cabinet members are expected to attend.

The whips of all the political parties met this evening and agreed to stage the ceremony, likely to be held on Tuesday or Wednesday in Dublin.

Chief Whip Paul Kehoe said the service is a "fitting tribute" to the young people who have lost their lives, as well as their families loved ones.
