Ball found in dead man's throat
A GARDA investigation is being carried out into the discovery of a golf ball in a dead man's throat, writes Edel Kennedy.
The discovery was made at a funeral home when the body was released for burial from St James's Hospital in Dublin.
A pathologist and mortuary technician at the hospital conducted an examination and a post-mortem operation on the businessman's remains after he died suddenly at his home last month.
A spokesman for St James's Hospital said its staff were fully co-operating with the garda investigation.
It is understood that foul play is not suspected in relation to the man's death.
