Author (60) killed in lawn mowing accident
A POPULAR environmentalist and author has died after his tractor overturned while he was mowing a lawn.
The removal takes place later this afternoon of father-of-four Bodo J Baginski (60), who died as he was cutting a neighbour's lawn on Tuesday night.
It is understood Mr Baginski was operating the tractor on an incline when the accident occurred. He died instantly.
A friend and neighbour of Mr Baginski said the gardening "perfectionist" had been rushing to get the grass cut before the forecast rain.
Earlier that afternoon Mr Baginski had his picture taken with his two young daughters on the tractor.
"At least these photos will be a beautiful memory for his four children," his friend added.
Mr Baginski was a best-selling author and wrote and co-wrote more than 20 books on holistic therapies.
His remains will repose at Coakley's Funeral Home, Bantry between 4pm and 5.30pm this evening, followed by a private cremation ceremony.
