Attacker 'approached two men and struck up conversation' before double stab attack

Gardai are investigating after two men were stabbed in Dublin overnight.

The incident occurred on Blessington Street in the early hours of Sunday morning.

It is understood an attacker approached the two men, aged 36 and 38, around 1am and struck up a conversation.

He then attacked the two men, stabbing them on the stomach, before he fled the scene.

The two men were taken to the Mater Hospital for treatment.

Their injuries are described as non life-threatening.

Investigations are continuing.
