Arrest made in Quinn case

A MAN was being questioned yesterday over the murder of South Armagh man Paul Quinn almost a year ago.

Gardai made an early morning arrest of the man, who is in his 20s, in Cavan town -- the latest in a series of arrests in the case.

Since his death on October 20 last year, the family of Mr Quinn, who was from Cullyhanna, blamed the IRA for the murder of the 21 year old.

A masked gang beat him to death after he was lured to empty farm buildings in Castleblayney, Co Monaghan.

The arrested man was detained in Monaghan garda station under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, under which he can be held for 72 hours.

At the beginning of August, a total of 11 people were arrested for questioning in relation to the murder.
