Army Bomb Disposal team make safe 'complex' explosive device in Carlow
The Army Bomb Disposal Team have made safe what they describe as a "complex viable improvised explosive device" in Carlow this evening.
According to the Defence Forces, they received a request from the gardai to attend a scene in Carlow this evening at 5pm.
After an inspection, the Army Bomb Disposal Team "identified a complex viable improvised explosive device".
It was made safe with a controlled explosion and the scene was declared safe at 6pm.
The remains of the device were taken away for investigation.
