Armed Gardai have stood down their operation at Blanchardstown Shopping Centre.
Members of the Armed Support Unit (ASU) and Emergency Response Unit (ERU) were called to the scene shortly after 5pm.
Gardai had received reports that a man, who they suspected of being armed with a firearm, was in the shopping centre.
It resulted in a large number of Gardai responding to the centre and detectives then evacuated the premises.
Earlier on Wednesday evening, Dublin Bus said that the 17A, 39/A 220, 236 238, 239 and 270 were unable to service the centre due to the incident.
