The actress married Adam Shulman in September last year and has always been open about her desire for children.

According to Star magazine, her brother Tom has now confirmed she is expecting. He apparently let slip the news while performing at a comedy night in Brooklyn, New York, at the end of last week.

“Tom opened his act by talking about Anne’s personal life,” an audience member told the US publication.

“He said, ‘My sister got married last year, and now she is about to be a new mom!’ I don’t think he realised what he had done.”

It’s unknown if Tom cleared his routine with his sister first. However, the 30-year-old actress isn’t letting the unusual announcement get her down and is already preparing for motherhood with her husband.

“Anne is over the moon and Adam is extremely giddy. She’s been wanting to get pregnant for a while but knew that she needed to wait for the right time. They are more than ready for this next chapter in their lives,” a source explained.

The news comes after the star was spotted in loose-fitting clothes while putting spooky decorations on her house for Halloween.

Anne has apparently decided she will take some time off once the baby is born as she wants her family to be her number one priority.

“She’s filming now,” the insider said, “but hasn’t lined up any major future projects. She and Adam want to put all their time and energy into the baby.”

The star previously revealed she is looking forward to “nesting”. She also expressed her delight at having found the perfect guy to raise a family with.

“I’ve wanted to be a mom since I was 16. But I also wanted to have a career, so I have been chomping at the bit to be a mother for a really long time,” she explained. “I also had to find a baby daddy first - which I now have.”
