Anger at Ross's Man Utd tweets
Transport Minister Shane Ross was subject to a barrage of criticism when he tweeted about watching a football match on the eve of the rail strike.
Mr Ross took to Twitter to note that Manchester United had taken the lead against Benfica. He also noted that he and fellow Independent minister Finian McGrath weren't betting on the match as they both wanted to back United.
The post led to several angry replies from the public. One said: "What's the story with the trains tomorrow? It's a more important part of your portfolio than an English football team."
Another wrote: "How about a bet on the chances of me getting in to work tomorrow?" Labour TD Alan Kelly tweeted: "Jaysus, there's a rail strike tomorrow Shane. Priorities?!"
