Amy Winehouse dad donates €25k to Irish Children’s charity the LauraLynn Hospice
THE father of Amy Winehouse has donated €25,000 in his daughters name to an Irish charity.
Mitch Winehouse arrived in Ireland this morning on a flying visit on behalf of the Amy Winehouse Foundation.
Accompanied by the charity's patron, actress Barbara Windsor, they gave the money - raised from Amy's last album - to the LauraLynn Children's Hospice in Dublin.
"We were moved and in awe of the great work the Hospice does for kids in Ireland," said Mitch.
"Our Foundation is in place to help charities and projects that make a difference and nowhere is this illustrated so well as at LauraLynn."
Ms Windsor revealed she had struck up a friendship with Amy many years ago, which they both kept private from the public.
Amy had helped her practice her lines for Eastenders and she was a "very talented actress".
The Foundation will be donating more money to the Irish children's hospice in the future as the royalties for Irish sales of her album, Lioness: Hidden Treasures, are paid.
