All-Ireland hopefuls look to hit the right note at Fleadh
After months of hard work and hours of practise, fiddle player Saoirse Kiernan (8) from Swords, Co Dublin, performed in the Fleadh 2017 in Co Clare.
More than 3,000 competitors will play, sing and dance to be in with a chance at becoming All-Ireland champions.
The Fleadh recalls the magic of the 1956 and 1977 Fleadhanna and was opened by Lord of the Dance Michael Flatley.
Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2016 attracted almost 400,000 visitors to the town.
Organisers are confident that visitor numbers will be high again this year.
Sharon Shannon will perform at the festival this evening.
The Scoil Éigse is the official summer school organised by Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann and provides students of all ages with workshops, lectures and sessions.
