Gardaí are investigating an alleged sexual assault on a 15-year-old girl by a rapper in a south Dublin hotel on Valentine's Day in a shocking incident which was filmed and shared on social media.
Officers in Clondalkin garda station are conducting a major investigation into the alleged sex attack and two Dublin- based suspects have been identified but no arrests have yet been made.
Detectives are treating the schoolgirl's complaint as "very credible" and are probing whether she was attacked by two young men in a hotel room on the afternoon of February 14.
A Garda spokesman confirmed an investigation was under way.
It is suspected the 15-year-old girl had been groomed on social media since last summer by the rapper. She has been described as "impressionable and vulnerable".
It is understood she travelled voluntarily to the well-known hotel to meet the rapper but was instead met by one of his associates.
It is alleged she was taken to a room where she was sexually assaulted by both older men.
A video of the alleged attack was recorded on a mobile phone and sent to a number of people on a social media platform. Within hours of the alleged incident taking place, the video clip was sent to a young man known to the girl.
