Enda Kenny has said that the allegations about sensitive information being leaked from NAMA are being taken “extremely seriously” by the Government.

It came after allegations in the Seanad that sensitive information had been leaked from NAMA, which had allowed developers to profit.

Mr Kenny said he was aware that a Garda investigation into a complaint by NAMA against one of its former employees was at an “advanced stage”. He told Independent TD Stephen Donnelly that he could not comment any further as a result.

“The Government takes this matter extremely seriously indeed. The point you raise is one of concern and substance,” he said.

At Leader’s Questions in the Dail, Mr Kenny said the Gardai had received a separate complaint from a firm of solicitors relating to an alleged disclosure of information by NAMA last August.

He urged anyone who had information about improprieties or illegal actions to bring it to the Gardai straight way.
