Allan goes wild after landing 'best job in world'
A DCU graduate was celebrating after beating off 600,000 rivals to land the "Best Job in the World" as an Australian outback adventurer.
Allan Dixon (26), of Arklow, Co Wicklow, will be paid Aus$100,000 – or €79,000 – to go 'walkabout' through bushland for six months. He will document his adventures on social media to woo other young travellers to the region.
"We're just over the moon for him," his delighted father Gerard Dixon said from the family home in Arklow yesterday. "He's always been a wanderer. We're just thrilled for him."
