Alaska the eagle finds a perch
ALL creatures great and small descended on the RDS at the weekend in a cacophony of barks, baas and tweets.
The eighth annual Pet Expo attracted more than 15,000 animal lovers over the two days.
Visitors got to get up close with a variety of animals from eagles to miniature ponies and cuddly rabbits to snakes and even a fearsome bearded dragon.
Grace Sheeran-Hayes (4) loved anything furry on four legs. "I like dogs because they jump up on me," she said.
Jolanta Miseviciene, from Santry, Dublin, brought along her stylish pocket pooches Gucci (2) and Archie (1) to experience the atmosphere.
"Gucci is a little shaken, she's never seen so many other dogs, but Archie loves it."
Fourteen-year-old 'Alaska', a bald eagle, was one of the more unusual attractions. Visitors were able to pose for a photo with the huge bird of prey.
