AFRICA Day celebrations set the weekend alight with the sizzling weather doing its best to make revellers feel at home.
The annual day is officially marked on May 25 and aims to recognise African diversity and culture with a week-long celebration.
The flagship event was held in Dublin with a variety of musical performances, films and workshops on George's Dock.
Africa Day is supported by the state group Irish Aid.
"The objective is to raise awareness and understanding of development issues in Africa, to highlight the cultural richness and diversity of Africa and to increase awareness of the Irish Aid programme," said the organisers.
