There’s a newly christened district in town - SOBO.

We've heard of Temple Bar, the Silicon Docks, D4, the IFSC, and there are even rumblings of a Chinatown for Dublin.

But could SOBO be the new kid on the block? According to real estate agent Sherry Fitzgerald, SOBO is a patch of land in the south Dublin Docklands.

It stands for South of Beckett O’Casey, the two landmark bridges in the area (the Samuel Beckett and the Sean O’Casey bridges).

SOBO is being heralded as the new creative and industrial quarter between the Grand Canal Dock and George’s Quay development zones.

It is already home to company offices such as BNY Mellon, Riot Games, Realex Payments, Three Ireland and Verizon.

A hub of creativity no doubt. Where are the Pogues when you need them... "Rainy night in...?"
