A record number of Irish winners scooped at least €500k in this week's Euromillions - here is where the tickets were sold
Last night’s EuroMillion draw saw a record number of top prize Irish winners with one lucky Cork player becoming a millionaire and four other players each winning €500,000.
This is the first time in the game’s history that Ireland had four EuroMillions Plus top prize winners in one night.
The €500,000 winning tickets were sold in:
- Bergin’s Foodfair in Clonmel, Co Tipperary
- Michael O’Brien’s Spar Shop in Borrisokane, Co. Tipperary
- John O’Sullivan’s Spar Store, Ballymany Shopping Centre Newbridge, Co Kildare
- Walsh’s Daybreak Store, Cork Road, Waterford
Ireland’s winning EuroMillionaire Raffle ticket was sold at Easons in the Wilton Shopping Centre in Cork.
Martina Walsh, Manager of the Easons Store, spoke of the store’s excitement this morning following the announcement of the winning ticket:
“Just last August, we sold a winning EuroMillions ticket worth over €250,000 so you could definitely say we’re a lucky EuroMillions shop for our customers," she said.
“All of the staff here today are absolutely buzzing. It’s very much a local shop in the heart of Cork city so we hope that it’s a local winner and we’ll certainly be reminding everybody we see today to check their tickets.”
There were a total of more than 144,000 Irish winners in Friday night’s EuroMillions draw while the rolling €177m jackpot was shared between two winners in Spain and the UK.
