HE earns a living by travelling to some of the most exotic places in the world – but a pint of plain was all Michael Palin wanted in Dublin.
The 'Monty Python' star enjoyed a Guinness as he signed his latest book, 'Brazil', at Dubray Books on Grafton Street, Dublin – and he even signed a coconut for one fan.
The book was written to accompany the latest travel series by the 69-year-old, where he travelled around Brazil for 18 months.
The four-part series was his idea – even though he hadn't planned on doing any more trips – "but Brazil auditioned itself very well," he said.
"The economy is growing fast, the World Cup is there in 2014 and the real clincher was the Olympics in 2016. A country that never had much attention from this side of the Atlantic was in the spotlight."
Palin also appeared on 'The Late Late Show' during his visit to Dublin.
