PEOPLE are being urged to carry out "random acts of kindness" next Sunday, which is World Mental Health Day, to help the nation's state of mental health.
The campaign is being spearheaded by HeadsUp, a youth project run by Rehab geared towards promoting mental health among 15-24 year-olds.
"HeadsUp wants to focus on the importance of promoting good mental well-being," said Collette Ryan, HeadsUp's project manager.
"Now, more than ever, Ireland needs a lift and an act of kindness to a friend or stranger will not only make their day better but can also boost your own mental health.
"Offering help and assistance or even just a friendly word or warm smile can make all the difference to a person's day."
