80,000 visitors expected this year

* MORE than 80,000 visitors are expected to attend the seventh year of Ireland's largest garden festival, staged on 70 acres of Dublin's Phoenix Park.

There are 28 garden shows, 100 Irish food/drink producers, 50 nurseries, 25 cookery demonstrations and 200 retailers.

More than 3.6km of trackway, 1km of walkway and three acres of marquee-covered ground have been set up to cater for visitors. The event runs from today until Monday, June 3 and is open from 10am to 6pm daily. Tickets are priced at €20 for adults, while there are concessions for over 65s and students, with children going free.

Bloom takes place in the Visitor Centre of the Phoenix Park. The

Visitor Centre is situated on the main road running from the Main Gate at Parkgate Street to the Castleknock Gate.

Take the Red Luas line directly to Heuston Station and hop on the courtesy shuttle bus.

There are also three car parks.
