JOINT receivers appointed to Xtra-vision have confirmed 54 jobs will be lost when nine of its stores close.
Another 58 workers will be axed when 11 shops close in Northern Ireland.
Ernest and Young said the stores have been identified for closure as a result of unsustainable trading losses resulting from a fall in revenue.
Employees affected by the closures will be offered appropriate support and advice throughout the redundancy process, it said.
Luke Charleton, joint receiver, said: "It is regrettable that we have had to schedule these store closures and we are extremely grateful to the employees and management at all the stores for their loyalty and support during what has been a very difficult and uncertain time.
"We are keen to stress that those stores unaffected by these closures will continue to trade as normal."
A spokeswoman added that a number of expressions of interest have been lodged for the business and assets of Xtra-vision as a going concern with discussions are continuing with a number of interested parties.
