50,000 cigarettes seized from houses in Tipperary
CIGARETTES with a retail value of €21,000 were seized by the Revenue Customs Service last night.
“As a result of an intelligence-led operation, officers from Revenue's Customs Service last night seized 50,000 cigarettes with a retail value of €21,000 and potential loss to the Exchequer of €18,000 in Roscrea, Co. Tipperary,” a spokesperson said.
The cigarettes were seized from two residential premises and a number of individuals were questioned.
A file is currently being prepared for the DPP.
