FIVE staff at Social Entrepreneurs Ireland (SEI) were paid more than €380,000 between them in 2010, the charity's latest accounts have revealed.
The average salary of €76,000 each is more than twice the average industrial wage. It represents 35pc of expenditure at the charity in 2010.
SEI chief executive Sean Coughlan refused to say how much of the €382,029 in "wages and salaries" was his own remuneration.
He also gave no comment on the generous wages paid to just five staff.
While members of SEI's board of directors are unpaid, accounts show that the charity's staff, which has numbered between three and five, have been paid a combined €1.1m in "wages and salaries" since 2007.
