30,000 expected to Believe with visit to Santa

THIS is no ordinary visit to Father Christmas.

Believe at the five-star Fota Island Resort in Co Cork brings Christmas to life with a lavish and thrilling Santa experience complete with all the trimmings.

As one of the country’s most impressive festive experience - which opened to the public last weekend - it was a complete sell-out within a week of tickets going on sale.

However, due to phenomenal demand, extra tickets have just been announced.

Opening on Saturday it will remain open up until Christmas Eve.

Advance booking is essential, with tickets available from €12.50 for adults, €20 for children, while kids under 12 moths go free.

The experience begins with a train ride through the five-star hotel grounds — last stop the gates to Franc’s Winter Wonderland.

Mulled wine, hot chocolate, and carols set the scene, until the children are invited to knock on the wooden doors.

Elves greet the children on the white winding path, one to take letters for Santa, another looks for help picking up his basket of chopped wood.

And then, finally, it’s time to meet the big man in the red suit in his wooden cabin.

“We have been delighted at Fota Island Resort at the response to Believe.” says Seamus Leahy, the Resort’s Director of Marketing, who initially thought of the idea of creating an extravagant Christmas experience at Fota Island Resort.

“It has been a collective effort from everyone here to bring the idea together from concept to what we are now offering families and we couldn’t have wished for a more successful first Christmas experience.”
