€280k of cannabis plants found in Roscommon

Cannabis plants with an estimated street value of up to €280,000 were found in a house in Roscommon this morning.

A man in his late 20s was arrested at the scene and taken to Roscommon Garda Station.

He is currently being detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

The arrest came after an operation targeting the cultivation of cannabis in the Roscommon area. 

Gardai from the Roscommon Divisional Drug unit conducted a planned search of a rural house in Athleague.
