€200,000 push for lucky firm
JOURNALIST Darragh McCullough of the Irish Independent and Kieran Rumley of Love Irish Food are part of the judging panel that will decide which lucky Irish food company will win €200,000 worth of advertising space to promote their business.
The aim is to give one food or drink brand a massive push and promote the importance of buying Irish to consumers.
"By switching from just two imported food products a week to two Irish brands, Irish people could generate over €300m per year for the economy," said Kieran Rumley.
To be in with a chance to win, food businesses need to outline in 2,000 words or fewer why they deserve the prize.
A shortlist of the best entries will form part of a 40-page glossy edition of the Irish Independent and be invited to a prizegiving event in October when the winner will be announced. The closing date for receipt of registration is Friday, July 20.
