120 call outs for Cork’s bonfire night

The fire service in Cork said it dealt with more than 120 call during the city’s traditional bonfire night.

There were a small number of public order incidents, but most passed off without trouble.

Fire crews were accompanied by Gardaí, in case of public disturbances..

The city council spent around €30,000 organising a number of civic fun nights at locations across the city.

But there were dozens of unauthorised bonfires and it was to these the fire service responded.
